Complete backups (level 0 dumps) are performed every weekend on all user home directories and mail files. If you would like to help us reduce the amount of information backed up, please place a file named ".nobackup" in the directory under your home directory area that you do not want to be backed up. Additionally, level 1 and level2 backups are performed on selected days during the week.
A primary reason for performing backups is to give us the ability to recover files lost due to disk failures, network intrusions and such. While there is no guarantee that a lost file can always be recovered, we will do our best. Files that are lost due to equipment failure or administration accidents are recovered free of charge. Our liability in such losses (or any other for that matter) of data stored on our network is only limited to an attempt to recover the lost information. If data recovery is not feasible we do not assume any further liability.
If you end up deleting files accidentally, send a list of files to "staff". A one time charge of $10 will be applied for the recovery, regardless of whether the recovery was successful or not.
